2012: Doomsday - The Worst Doomer Movie Ever

I've admitted previously how much I love doomer movies. Whether it's post-apocalyptic or dystopian or whatever it is...if it fall into that general line, I love it.

That said, 2012: Doomsday is one of the worst movies I've ever actually sat through. In fact, it was so bad, I sorted junk mail for shredding and composting while it was on. Argh..I feel like I was robbed of almost 2 hours of life.

It was so very bad, I can't actually write a review of plot details...

Just thought I'd share. :)

Wow...thanks for saving me 2 hours, lol! That says something when it was so bad you got some shredding done...on second thought maybe I will watch it and get that stack uniforms that need sewing done :)

Hi Christy, I saw your post on the Chiots Run blog that said you are in coastal VA. I'm in Chincoteague -- are you close by????

Christy,

I just finished reading One Second After. It was awesome, thank you for recommending it.

This is the first book I've read on this subject or anything similar to it. I've read the Grapes of Wrath and about the Donner Party but nothing like this. I haven't even read books about the end of times, and I had never heard about EMP. (I'm not the reader you are.)
I have often wondered what would happen in another depression or severe drought, so I found it very thought-provoking. I wouldn't mind discussing it with you sometime if you would like to email me. I'm like you, I want all my friends to read it - then we can discuss it.

I like them too. LOL

Ah, just read Milah's comment, the book is about an EMP?

An EMP would certainly change the scape of things. I don't think it would be too bad if the entire world was hit all at once, putting us back to horse and buggy days. Life is too complicated now.

Sometimes a bad movie is just the thing, if you are prepared with popcorn and a MST3000 load of corny comments. LOL

I'll have to make sure I skip that one then...LOL.

On your previous post...I cut way back on cleaning products too and only use a few basic ingredients as well...I do find that all those cleansers eat up your budget and most of them don't do what them claim to! Back to the basics for me.

Hugs,
Robin

Thanks for the heads up - i love this genre. Just saw "the happening" was ok, provoked conversation with the family. Grapes of Wrath is the reason I homestead, am I paranoid? It seems like the world is in a bad B movie from the 80s about the future, doesn't it? Art imitating life imitating art. Do you know much about emps? Peace for all

I watched it, believing it was the 2012 of roland emerich, and I totally agree, it is one of the worst movie ever made.
